PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
Charles E. Walters, ASA is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation and is certified by the American Society of Appraisers. The American Society of Appraisers is the nation's oldest professional valuation society that trains, tests and certifies professional appraisers. Membership in the Society requires a degree from a recognized institution of learning or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the International Board of Examiners of the American Society of Appraisers. To attain the status of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) a candidate must have 5 years full time appraisal experience. The candidate must furnish acceptable professional and personal references. The local ASA chapter must conduct a personal interview and evaluate the candidate's appraisal experience. The candidate is required to submit two actual, redacted professional business appraisals for evaluation by the Board of Examiners. The candidate must then pass a comprehensive written examination. All members of the Society are required to prepare their appraisal reports in conformance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, as established by the Appraisal Foundation.
